Professor Adesola Ojo Ojoawo completed his Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy in 1991, Masters of Science in 2002 and Doctor of Philosophy in 2011 all at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. His academic journey in Department of Medical Rehabilitation Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife started in Dec 1, 2010 as a Lecture II. He rose through the rank and attained full professorship in October 2019.  Professor Ojoawo researches focused on the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy specifically non pharmacological management of pain using physiotherapeutic modalities. He has developed minor interest in the measurement of anthropometry in relation to non-communicable diseases. He has authored 70  publications in reputable journals. He has travelled to different parts of the world presenting papers and workshops relating to physiotherapy management of musculoskeletal pain. He has supervised more than 100 undergraduates and several postgraduate students. He has won several awards and Fellowship grants.   He is the president of National Association of Orthopedic Manual Therapist, Chairman, Scientific Council of the Association of Clinical and Academic Physiotherapists of Nigeria, member of International Association for the Study of Pain and Chairman, Society for the Study of Pain, Osun State Chapter. He has served the University, College of Health Sciences,  Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, he has been course coordinator, Chief Coordinator for the Department, Departmental Postgraduate coordinator and he is presently  the Head, Department of Medical Rehabilitation, Obafemi Awolowo University.
